Augusta Officers GreetingStudents at Augusta Elementary were greeted by local police and fire department officers as they arrived to school on Thursday morning, Oct. 18.

Officers from the Washington Police Department and the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department, along with members of the Augusta Fire Department, were on hand to greet the students.

The officers, along with Augusta Elementary Principal Dr. Mary Robertson, gave the students hand-shakes and high-fives as they entered the building to start their day.

Everyone then moved inside to the gymnasium, where the officers introduced themselves to the student body and received a standing ovation.

Once the students went to class, the officers were treated to breakfast and then got a tour of the school from Robertson.
