Golf Tournament

Wolf Hollow Golf Club

The 14th Annual WINGS Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 21, at Wolf Hollow Golf Club.
The golf tournament will be a four-person scramble with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m.
The fee of $105 per person or $420 per foursome includes range balls, 18 holes with a cart, skins game, drinks, lunch and dinner.
Individuals or groups with less than four golfers are welcome.
The registration deadline is June 14. Make checks payable to WINGS Educational Foundation and send to P.O. Box 203, Washington, MO 63090.
Check-in and lunch are set for 11:30 a.m. Dinner follows golf at approximately 5 p.m.

Oxfest Music Festival

Washington City Park Concert Pavilion


The Third Annual OxFest 2019 Music Festival, to benefit the Duane Haddox Scholarship, Whole Kids Outreach and the WINGS Educational Foundation, will be held at the Washington city park concert pavilion, on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The headliner band is The SteelDrivers, to perform at 9 p.m. Also performing will be The Dave Bennett Band (1 p.m.), Schmitts & Grins (3 p.m.), Woodshine (5 p.m.), and Macks Creek (7 p.m.).

Food, beer and other activities will be available for purchase. Doors open at noon with the first concert starting at 1 p.m.

Families are welcome, so bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. Please no outside food or drinks, coolers, pets, firearms or fireworks.

Tickets for the event are $40 per person at the gate. However, they can be purchased online for $30 until August 31 at oxfestmusicfestival.org. Tickets are $20 apiece with the purchase of 10 or more.

Tickets also can be purchased at The Bank of Franklin County, 901 E. 8th Street in Washington.

Children tickets (age 7-12) will be available at the gate for $10. Children under 7 are free.

Picnic in the Park

Dinner: 4-7 p.m.


This annual event is held the first Friday evening in May.  We generally serve pork steak, pulled pork, or nachos as well as hot dogs and pork burgers for children. Carryout orders are also available. All money collected helps support the WINGS Teacher Grant program for the upcoming school year. Entertainment is provided by district music groups, including a special performance from the Washington High School Jazz Band. Please call (636) 231-2100 for more details.

Employee Awards

The WINGS Foundation Award for Educational Excellence is presented annually in partnership with the Missourian Publishing Company and two WHS Alumni to an outstanding educator within the School District of Washington. The recipient receives a plaque and $1,000. The 2017 winner of the Award for Educational Excellence is Ann Loesing
 

The WINGS Foundation Award for Outstanding Service is presented annually to honor a support staff employee of the School District of Washington. The recipient receives a plaque and $500. The 2017 winner of the Award for Outstanding Service is Dawn Martin.

Scholarships

The WINGS Foundation provides $5,000 in financial assistance each year through five annual scholarships.
 

The Sarah Stoenner Alsop WINGS Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a Licensed Practical Nursing student at the Four Rivers Career Center in the amount of $1,000.
 

Two WINGS Washington Alumni Scholarships and two WINGS Scholarships are awarded to Washington High School seniors in the amount of $1,000 each.

Staff Recognition

In conjunction with Teacher Appreciation Week held the first week of May, parents and community members now have the opportunity to recognize a School District of Washington staff member who has made an impact. These staff members are recognized by receiving a visit from a WINGS Board member delivering flowers and a card from there admirer.
