Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

The Department has been working to establish lines of communication with schools, parents and community leaders. We hope to share information with you about Department programs and initiatives that will be beneficial to parents and families. We have a several methods that can be used to disseminate information.

Parent-Teacher Organizations/Parent Teacher Associations Listserv

We now have a parent-teacher organization/parent-teacher association (PTO/PTA) listserv. We encourage you to send this link to the leaders of your district’s parent groups so that they can sign up to receive information from the Department. We will use the listserv to send information that they can then share with parents and families at their PTO/PTA meetings or in their newsletters. Sign up for the PTO/PTA listserv

Bulletin Listserv

Each Thursday, if warranted, Communications sends an “Electronic Mailbag.” The mailbag contains general information for teachers, parents, schools, and anyone else interested in education across the state. Grant availability, scholarship opportunities and special event notices are sent in the mailbag. Subscribers also receive copies of all news releases and other special announcements. Sign up for the Bulletin listserv
