Lindsay MeyerLindsay Meyer is the new head volleyball coach at Washington High School.

A 2012 graduate of Washington High School, Meyer previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) for the last two seasons (2018-19).

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Washington volleyball program again,” Meyer said. “As a former Blue Jay, I know how much volleyball means to the athletes, their families, and the community. I look forward to coaching this team and continuing to build on Washington's volleyball tradition.”

Meyer replaces Susan Harms, who stepped down after two seasons as the WHS volleyball coach.

“I am so excited for our volleyball program with Lindsay as the head coach,” Harms said. “She’ll do great things here.”

Under head coach Ryan Young, Meyer helped the Tritons to a 29-5 record in 2019, the program’s most wins in a single season since 1991. The team also made an NCAA tournament appearance, which was only the fourth in school history.

Meyer will teach English Language Learners on the elementary level for the School District of Washington.

“We are very excited to have Lindsay, a Washington High School graduate, take over the reigns of our volleyball program,” said WHS Activities Director Bill Deckelman. “I have no doubt that she will continue the strong volleyball tradition at our school.”

Meyer was a standout volleyball player at Washington High. She was a three-year letter winner and three-time all-GAC North honoree. Meyer earned all-district honors and was on the all-conference sportsmanship team as a senior.

Meyer continued her volleyball career at UMSL, where she was a team captain all four years. She finished her career ranking third in all-time career assists and fifth in all-time career digs for UMSL. Her senior year, Meyer was the recipient of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Female Athlete Sportsmanship Award.

Meyer holds two degrees from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She completed her undergraduate studies in business administration in 2016 and then received her Master of Education in 2020.
