Health Science Occupations Program

The Health Science Occupations program is a three-credit hour course open to seniors only. An embedded science credit will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

Through classroom study, laboratory training, field trips and guest speakers, students become increasingly familiar with available career choices. Additionally, the option is open for becoming a certified nurse's aide in a long-term care facility, providing the necessary requirements are met before the end of the school year. Students rotate through more than 35 different areas in and outside of the hospital.

Students are taught personal development, work attitude and leadership skills as a part of the program and their membership in HOSA, the national career and technical student organization.
