Washington High School Celebrates FFA Week

FFA WeekWashington High School celebrated National FFA Week Feb. 15-22.

Chris Dunard, WHS Agriculture Education instructor and FFA adviser, and his students participated in week-long activities at WHS.

Friday, Feb. 15 - Cherry Pie Day and Official Dress Day. Students wore their official FFA Dress and delivered cherry pie to their supporters and sponsors. The FFA Officers met with Washington Mayor Sandy Lucy for a proclamation signing.

Monday, Feb. 18 - Career and Leadership Event Day. Students learned about upcoming career and leadership events and discussed the preparations needed.

Tuesday, Feb. 19 - Super Farmer competitions in the Ag. Shop. Students competed in a few fun games centered around agriculture.

Thursday, Feb 21 - Faculty, Staff, and FFA Member BBQ. FFA members cooked and provided lunch to WHS, Four Rivers Career Center, and maintenance staff for supporting their program.

Friday, Feb 22. Tractor Safety and Farm Animal Petting Zoo. Students who met the requirements brought their tractors or farm animals to school. Tractors were judged on safety requirements. The farm animals were displayed for all to see.
