Baseball Blue Jays Run Past Ft. Zumwalt East

WHS Vs. FZE BaseballPlaying a home GAC Central varsity baseball contest, Washington’s offense came alive in a 13-8 victory over Ft. Zumwalt East on Tuesday, April 23.

The Blue Jays, who scored the final eight runs of the game after trailing 8-5, scored the 13 runs while collecting 10 hits.

Luke Kroeter paced the Blue Jays with three hits.

Joe Hackmann collected two hits and four RBIs.

Trevor Rinne had a three-run double.

Hackmann got the start on the mound and was the winning pitcher. He allowed eight hits and three earned runs with five strikeouts over five innings.

Joe Bauer worked in relief, tossing two scoreless innings. He struck out five of the six batters he faced.

Washington improved to 6-10 overall and 4-3 in the GAC Central.
