Washington High School Graduation Update (June 26)
Posted on 06/26/2020
Regarding Washington High School Graduation on Saturday, June 27. We’re doing everything possible to get it in and are planning to keep the ceremony scheduled for a 9 a.m. start.

The forecast for Graduation time calls for a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Please come prepared with umbrellas and towels to wipe off seats.

In the event of rain prior to or during the ceremony, spectators will evacuate to your vehicles until the ceremony resumes. In the event of thunderstorms, an announcement on where to go will be made over the public address system. Staff members also will be available to help you to a location.

Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. If there’s a change in the forecast and we have to postpone the ceremony, a call blast will be made by 7:15 a.m. It will also be posted on the School District of Washington’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

If no announcement is made in the morning, the ceremony is still on.

We’ll make every effort to get the ceremony in on Saturday morning. However, if it is postponed, we will reschedule for Sunday, June 28, at 8 p.m.

We highly encourage graduates, staff and spectators to wear a mask, although not a mandate, and we ask everyone to social distance. If there are any graduates or families that would rather not participate in the ceremony, we understand. In those instances, graduates can contact the high school on Monday to arrange for pick-up of their diplomas.

Also, be reminded that the ceremony is being live streamed. See our district website for more information.
