Washington High School soccer player Avery Lanemann is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Lanemann, a freshman midfielder, scored four goals in three games during the season-opening Warrenton Tournament March 19-20, helping the Lady Jays to the tournament championship.
Lanemann scored three goals in a 6-0 victory over Warrenton and added another in a 9-0 win over Elsberry.
“In our second game, Avery had a hat trick while holding down the middle of the field with her excellent ability to control the ball and the game,” said Washington Head Soccer Coach Adam Fischer. “I would say this has been a great start to a varsity career for a freshman.”
