Hometown Heroes TourTo celebrate Veterans Day, a Hometown Heroes Tour took place on Thursday, November 11. The event was spearheaded by staff at St. Francis Borgia High School with the help of Washington High School math instructor Jaime Opfer.

Area veterans were invited to meet at the Washington Post 218 American Legion parking lot prior to the start of the parade. After meeting, a caravan left for some local schools for a quick drive through celebration while the veterans remained in their cars. Students were outside and greeted the caravan as it passed by their school.

Washington Middle School and High School students had the opportunity to greet the caravan when it passed through their locations.

The Heroes Hometown Tour route was the Washington Post 218 American Legion, to Our Lady of Lourdes, to Washington Middle School and Washington High School, to Immanuel Lutheran, to St. Francis Borgia Grade School, to St. Francis Borgia Regional High School.
