Washington High School Track and Field Standout Ingrid Figas Named Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week
Washington High School track and field athlete Ingrid Figas is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Figas, a senior, has established herself as one of the top hurdlers and multi-event athletes in the state over the last four years.
As a senior, she won the Washington Pentathlon this season and during the Cape Girardeau Central Invitational, she won both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles while running into a 20-mile per hour head wind. She also placed third in the long jump.
Figas, a three-sport athlete and an all-state hurdler last season, is involved with a number of different clubs and activities at WHS while holding a 4.0 grade-point average in the classroom.
