Washington West Elementary Students, Staff Surprise Retiring Principal Kim Hunt, Assistant Principal Glenda Leslie With Assembly
Staff and students at Washington West Elementary had a surprise assembly on Monday morning, May 9, for Principal Kim Hunt and Assistant Principal Glenda Leslie. Both Hunt and Leslie are retiring following the 2021-22 school year.
Neither Hunt nor Leslie knew about the assembly, which was organized by staff. Students and staff filled the gymnasium to recognize and honor Hunt and Leslie.
Each grade at Washington West presented Hunt and Leslie with a gift. Following the gift presentations, Hunt and Leslie both took the microphone and addressed the staff and students, thanking them for the surprise.
Hunt has been in education in education for 25 years, 13 years with the School District of Washington. Leslie has been in education for 22 years, all with the School District of Washington.
