Basketball Lady Jays Compete at Borgia Tournament

WHS Girls BasketballWashington High School varsity girls basketball continued action at the Borgia Tournament in a semifinal contest against Union on Wednesday, January 31.

The sixth-seeded Lady Jays fell short against second-seeded Union, 56-39.

Elizabeth Reed led Washington with 13 points. Cierra Murrell added 11 points.

Washington opened the tournament on Monday, January 29, with a victory over third-seeded Parkway South, 52-37.

Kendall Nix paced the Lady Jays with 13 points. Murrell added 10 points.

Washington will play fifth-seeded Ft. Zumwalt South in the third-place game of the tournament Saturday at 4 p.m. The Lady Jays return to home action Tuesday, February 6, for a girls and boys double-header against Liberty. The varsity girls game starts at 5:30 p.m. in the big gym followed by the JV girls game in the little gym at 7 p.m.
