Blue Jays Blast Pacific in Home Football Opener

WHS Football vs. PacificPlaying its varsity football home opener on Friday, Aug. 31, Washington High School busted into the win column with a 35-0 victory over Pacific.

The Blue Jays (1-1) took control early on and controlled the game on both sides of the ball.

Washington’s defense struck first when Brandon Titter intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown to make the score 6-0.

The Blue Jays’ offense then went to work, scoring on touchdown runs of 13 yards by Cole Nahlik and 17 yards by Bryce Kazmaier to make the score 22-0 at the end of the first quarter. Ryan Hoerstkamp scored on both two-point conversions.

Leading 22-0 at halftime, the Blue Jays scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter on a 58-yard run by Kazmaier and a 53-yard run by Johnny Duncan.

Washington returns to home action with a week three match up against Warrenton (0-2) on Friday, Sept. 7.
