Clearview Elementary PavilionWork on building a new pavilion at Clearview Elementary School has been completed. The finishing touches will be made on Friday, Sept. 28.

The work was done by students in the Building Construction Trades program at the Four Rivers Career Center, led by instructors Rob York and Garry Gerhart.

“The project went smoothly and we had several students play a part in building the pavilion,” York said. “We’re thankful to Clearview Elementary for giving us this opportunity. Our program has done a lot of work throughout the school district. I don’t think there’s a building in the district that we haven’t done some kind of work on.”

It is a 20 x 40 pavilion located next to the playground at Clearview, similar to the one currently at Campbellton Elementary.

Funds for the project are from the PTSO dinner auction at Clearview Elementary.

“We are excited to have the pavilion completed. This was a cooperative effort between the Building Trades class, which provided the labor, and the funding from our Clearview PTSO from fundraising efforts,” said Clearview Elementary Principal Dr. Matt Busekrus. “I’m glad the Building Trades class had a chance to gain hands-on experience throughout the building process. For years to come, our staff and students will be able to enjoy this addition to our playground.”
