Jordan Scheer Children's Relay for Life Set for April 21; Online Registration Deadline March 10
The 18th Annual Jordan Scheer Memorial Children’s Relay for Life is scheduled for Friday, April 21, at Scanlan Stadium on the Washington High School campus from 3:30-6:30 p.m.
This year’s theme is “Blasting Cancer Out of This World.”
The event is put together by the Washington High School student council and leadership class. Proceeds are donated to the Franklin County Relay for Life and benefit the American Cancer Society and cancer awareness.
Event chairs are seniors Lily Brickel, Matthew Freitag and Lauren Killian, and juniors Madison Moore, Ava Kauffeld and Brynne Pearcy.
The relay is named in honor of Jordan Scheer, a WHS graduate who lost his battle to cancer shortly after his graduation in 2005.
Third through sixth grade children from area schools will participate in the event. They must have already registered to attend.
