Washington High School’s National Honor Society induction ceremony was held on Monday, April 17, at the CJB Theatre.
The guest speaker was Master Sergeant Tim Gates, NJROTC instructor at Washington High School. MSG Gates is set to retire following the 2022-23 school year after serving 20 years in the education field, including the last six years at the School District of Washington.
WHS Principal Dr. Kelle McCallum spoke during the event, giving the opening and closing remarks.
National Honor Society officers were recognized and played a role in the ceremony; Maddie Grimes (President), Lily Schmitt (Vice President), Matthew Freitag (Secretary), Claire Hellebusch (Treasurer), Isabella Fitzgerald (Historian) and Mya Wardwell (Student Council Representative).
Current National Honor Society members were recognized followed by the induction of the new members.
