Washington High School wrestler Casey Olszowka is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Olszowka, a senior, is off to a 9-0 start to the season at 157 pounds heading into Wednesday’s home meet against Sullivan. He claimed the 157-pound crown at the Westminster Tournament with three pins and one tech fall, leading the Blue Jays to the team title. He also owns a 7-1 win this season over Rolla’s returning third-place state medalist.
Olszowka is a returning captain and a two-time state qualifier. Last season, he notched a record of 53-3 and captured all-state honors in Class 3 with a third-place finish at 157 pounds.
