Health Occupations MarthasvilleFour Rivers Career Center Health Occupations students have been visiting elementary schools in the area covering dental education.

The Health Occupation students have been going to elementary schools in the School District of Washington and to elementary classrooms outside of the district. They are educating approximately 870 first-grade students in Franklin County and parts of Warren County.

The students visited Marthasville Elementary on Thursday, February 22, to speak to first-grade students about dental hygiene.

There were presentations, tips and demonstrations given to the first-grade students on the proper ways for them to care for their teeth.

The Health Occupations students prepared dental education projects geared toward teaching first-graders how to properly care for their teeth. They discuss "good" and "bad" foods for oral health as well as talk about how often students should brush and floss. They demonstrate how to brush and floss with giant teeth models, toothbrushes and yarn. There is also a video that accompanies the education.
