SDOW LogoThe School District of Washington’s Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the District Office at 7 p.m.

Among the items on the agenda are:

Special Recognition - Several Washington High School staff members and students will be recognized at this month's school board meeting.

*Ben Strauser - Youth and Government Program

*MSgt. Tim Gates - JROTC Program

*Karen Fixsal - Culinary Program

Board Candidate Filing - School Board filing for the April 7, 2020 election will open on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 8 a.m. and will close on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 5 p.m. There are three, three-year term positions available.

Student Representative Report - Tristan Zeh, Student Representative to the Board of Education, will share a report on activities and events at Washington High School.

Owner's Representative Report - The Board of Education at the Oct. 23 school board meeting approved Landmark Contract Management, Inc. to serve as the District's Owner Representative to assist with the upcoming construction projects.

Superintendent Dr. Lori VanLeer and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Brendan Mahon have met with Brad Hornburg, Owner, and Shari Miskov, Vice President, Business Development.

Scott Kolath, Vice President, and Chris Slagle, Sr. Project Manager, will be at the meeting to share information with the Board of Education.

Parent Summit – 2020 - Dr. Lori VanLeer has assembled a Parent Summit Planning Team to plan a professional development opportunity for parents in our school community. This will be the planning year, with our first Summit to be held next fall/spring (date to be determined). The committee met for the first time on Nov. 8.
