Washington High School Wrestler Gavin Holtmeyer Named Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week
Washington High School wrestler Gavin Holtmeyer is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Holtmeyer, a senior, claimed the 285-pound title at the Class 3 District 1 Wrestling Tournament Friday and Saturday, February 11 and 12, in Farmington. He registered a 4-0 record with four pins to improve his overall record to 34-2.
Holtmeyer is a two-time district champion, a four-time state qualifier and will be looking for his third career state medal at the MSHSAA Wrestling Championships February 17-19 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
