Four Rivers Career Center Hosts Sixth-Grade BUILD Days

Four Rivers Career Center held sixth-grade BUILD days from November 15-22.

Every sixth-grade student from the School District of Washington had the chance to visit the Career Center to learn about the different programs and opportunities available, and also participate in activities.

The sixth-grade students learned about career and technical education programs and explored a variety of career options.

Teaching Careers students led the sixth-graders on tours, stopping in each program for hands-on, interactive projects and experiences throughout the day, led by program student ambassadors.

Each session was approximately 15 minutes long. By the end of the visit, the sixth-grade students had spent time in each of the Career Center’s classrooms and shops.

Some of the activities included a spark plug challenge in automotive technology, a construction relay in building construction, and using stethoscopes in health occupations.
