Clint SchneiderThe School District of Washington is excited to take part in the “STL Teacher Proud” campaign, put on by Education Plus, as an effort to highlight the amazing teachers who choose to serve the St. Louis community and inspire others to join the noble profession of teaching. On the second Tuesday of each month, we’ll highlight a SDOW teacher who chooses to make a difference every day.

Teacher Proud Tuesday – Clint Schneider, Social Studies Teacher, Washington High School

Schneider is the social studies department chair at Washington High School. This is his 18th year in education, and his 12th year teaching social studies at WHS. He began his career teaching in the Gasconade County R-I School District in Hermann for six years.

Clint’s wife, Keli, is a first-grade teacher at Clearview Elementary.

“I enjoy teaching social studies subjects because it can challenge students to think critically about the everyday things they encounter in life. It’s rewarding when I can see a student see things from a new perspective for the first time,” Schneider said. “I enjoy working at WHS because of the students and staff I get to work with. I often feel like I learn more from them, than what they do from me.”

“Mr. Schneider is a reflective teacher leader who wants the best for students, teachers, and the school community. He introduces his classes to interesting projects and supports their learning from introduction to project completion,” said WHS Principal Dr. Kelle McCallum. “Mr. Schneider supports his colleagues by listening and helping them identify solutions. WHS is lucky to have Mr. Schneider as a teacher.”
