Washington High School baseball player Grant Trentmann is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Trentmann, a senior, has been nearly unhittable on the mound this year. In four starts, he has not allowed an earned run, and only two unearned runs. He owns a 2-1 record with a 0.00 earned-run average. In 23 innings of work, he’s allowed six hits and eight walks and has registered 36 strikeouts.
Trentmann pitched five scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out 11 batters, in Washington’s 9-1 win over state-ranked Ft. Zumwalt East on Tuesday, April 4.
When he’s not pitching, Trentmann plays second base and has done a solid job defensively this season.
