WHS Track and Field Athlete Alyssa Repke Named KLPW Athlete of the Week
Washington High School track and field athlete Alyssa Repke is the KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week.
Repke, a senior, won the state championship in the Class 4 girls discus with a throw of 40.65 meters at the MSHSAA Track and Field Championships May 31 at Jefferson City High School. It was Repke’s third career state medal after finishing in fourth place in the discus in each of the last two years.
Repke finished in first place in the discus in every meet Washington competed in this season. She also net a new school record in the discus this season at the GAC Central meet with a throw of 41.71 meters. She is a three-time conference champion, a three-time district champion and a three-time state medalist.
Repke will continue her academic and track and field career at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Giarardeau.
