Former FRCC Welding Student Receives Bronze Medal at SkillsUSA National Competition
Peytan McKinney, a 2024 graduate of Pacific High School and former student in the welding department at Four Rivers Career Center, received a bronze medal at the SkillsUSA National Competition last June in Atlanta.
McKinney qualified for nationals by receiving a gold medal at the SkillsUSA state competition last spring. She left the national competition with over $30,000 in scholarships and welding equipment.
“Peytan has found her calling in life with welding and now teaches a welding class as a volunteer for young kids to learn a trade in St. Louis,” said Dan Kemper, FRCC welding instructor. “For her to represent Missouri, Four Rivers Career Center and the School District of Washington at the national level was truly amazing.”
