Augusta Elementary Teacher Katie Kluesner Receives Blue Jay Pride Award
Katie Kluesner, second-grade teacher at Augusta Elementary, is the December recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and a gift card.
Kluesner’s nomination form stated the following:
“Katie Kluesner is a vital member of the Augusta Elementary team, known for her unwavering dedication and strong advocacy for every student. She brings warmth, integrity, and compassion to her classroom each day, creating an environment where students feel supported and inspired. Katie's teaching style is both innovative and engaging, incorporating hands-on activities that promote critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the material. Her commitment to excellence and genuine care for her students make her an outstanding candidate for the Blue Jay Pride award.”
Kluesner was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart. She also received a gift bag from the Bank of Franklin County, represented by Becky Buhr and Michelle Charles.
