New Teacher Orientation Welcomes Educators to School District of Washington
New Teacher Orientation for the 2026-27 school year in the School District of Washington took place Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12, at the Technology and Learning Center.
The district’s newest teachers participated in a full agenda of activities and training during the three-day event, providing them with information, resources and support as they prepare for the start of the new school year.
Superintendent Dr. Cassandra Suggs and members of the district administration team were on hand on the first day to welcome the teachers to the School District of Washington. Assistant Superintendent Maranda Anderson, along with Casey Fisher, Dawn Campbell and Amanda Schweissguth from the district’s technology department, assisted with training throughout the orientation. Various other district administrators and staff members also contributed to the three-day program.
On the final day of orientation, Board of Education members Dr. Frank Wood, John Freitag, Kelly Brinkmann, Emma Menefee and Tiffany Stecko stopped by to visit with the new teachers and welcome them to the district.
New Teacher Orientation gives incoming educators an opportunity to become familiar with district procedures, technology and resources while connecting with administrators, staff members and fellow educators before the school year begins.
