Washington High School Homecoming Week Runs September 14-19
Homecoming Week at Washington High School is September 14-19.
The Homecoming football game is scheduled for Friday, September 18. The football Blue Jays take on Ft. Zumwalt South at 7 p.m.
This year’s Homecoming theme is “A Night in Rio.”
The Homecoming Court will be introduced prior to the football game at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The coronation will be at the dance, which takes place on Saturday, September 19, in the Little Blue Jay Gymnasium at WHS from 6-9 p.m. Coronation will be at 8 p.m.
The Homecoming parade is Friday, September 18, at 4:30 p.m. The parade will begin at Four Rivers Career Center, to left on Stafford, to right on Eighth Street to right on Sunnyside and end at Washington High School.
Homecoming dance tickets are $10 each and will be on sale in the guidance lobby at WHS before and after school on September 14-18. The last day to buy tickets will be Friday morning, September 18. Tickets will not be sold at the dance. Students who want to bring an outside guest must complete a guest form located in the principal's and assistant principal’s offices before purchasing a ticket.
The WHS Powder Puff Football game between the juniors and seniors is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at Scanlan Stadium at 6 p.m. Players and spectators are not allowed to the field until 5:45 p.m. due to football practice. Admission is $3 and the concession stand will be open.
September 14-18 is spirit week at Washington High School. The themes for each day are as follows:
Monday – Nighttime in the Jungle (pajamas)
Tuesday – Colors of Carnival (seniors pink, juniors green, sophomores yellow, freshmen orange, staff purple)
Wednesday – Ruffle Your Feathers, Dress to Impress (dress your best)
Thursday – Get Wild (animal print or camouflage)
Friday – RIO (wear blue).
