Board of Education: Leslie, Oreskovic, Horvath Sworn Into Office; Leslie Remains President

BOE Reorganization MeetingThe School District of Washington’s Board of Education held a reorganization meeting on Tuesday, April 18, at the Technology and Learning Center.

Incumbent Dan Leslie and newcomers Bob Oreskovic and Rob Horvath were sworn in to office after claiming the three open seats.

Leslie begins his second term on the Board. Oreskovic and Horvath begin their first term on the Board. Oreskovic previously served on the Board from 2017-20. Board members are elected to three-year terms.

Leslie was voted to remain president of the Board of Education. Kevin Blackburn remains vice president.

Other members of the Board of Education are John Freitag, Kelly Brinkmann and Dr. Frank Wood.

Julie Bell is the secretary to the Board and the custodian of records. Robin Kluesner is the Board treasurer.

The Board also recognized outgoing members Scott Byrne and Susan Thatcher for their years of service. Byrne was first elected to the Board in 2008, serving five terms. Thatcher was first elected in 2014, serving three terms.
