The School District of Washington's Buildings and Grounds staff has been working diligently to fix a water leak outside of Clearview Elementary starting on Thursday, December 15.
With the timing of the larger water main break, school continued with added safety measures. Due to the continued work on this issue into the weekend, Clearview Elementary will be on an Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) “modified e-Learning day” on Friday, December 16.
Please note, this change will only be for Clearview Elementary and will not affect students in other buildings.
This modified e-Learning day will be similar to the modified e-Learning days from last year and will be different from the communicated inclement weather days for this year.
Please note that attendance for the day will be recorded as per a regular school day by students completing assigned work. In the event that students would be absent due to illness, they will be given the opportunity to make the work up planned for Friday. Please communicate with your child’s teacher if this is the case and we will work out alternative arrangements. This will also be the case for students unable to connect online. Again, please communicate this to your child’s teacher.
Modified e-Learning Day:
Students in grades K-6 will log into Google Classroom and will Zoom with their teachers. You will get specific instructions from your student’s teacher about the plans for the day e-mailed to you either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Students will have an initial check-in with their teachers between 8-9 a.m. to receive instruction (materials and activities) and begin their day. The student day ends at 1:30 p.m. with time throughout the day for instruction via Google Classroom and individual work time offline. Teachers will also have Zoom check-in times with students at different times throughout the day for student questions and support.
