Teaching Careers Students Compete in Educators Rising State Conference

Educators Rising State ConferenceFour Rivers Career Center Teaching Careers students competed at the State Educators Rising Conference on Wednesday, March 15, where they won several awards.

The conference was held at Westminster College in Fulton and hosted Educators Rising chapters from across the state.

The FRCC chapter had 12 competitors who made the trip to the event. Every one of the students placed in the top 10 in their respective event, and all of them qualified to compete at the National Conference this summer. Nine of them are choosing to move on to the next level in Orlando.

Results from the FRCC’s Teaching Career students are as follows:

First Place - Ethical Dilemma Competition by Sarah Desmond, Matthew Freitag and Katelyn Rice

First Place - Exploring Support Services by Avery Marquart

First Place - Exploring Administration Careers by Emily Smith

First Place - Exploring Noncore Teaching by Molly Bauer

First Place - Ed Rising Moment by Addison Harden

First Place - K-3 Children's Literature by Kirsten Monnig

Third Place - Job Interview by Addison Harden

Third Place - Impromptu Speaking by Jackson Tobias

Fifth Place - K-3 Children's Literature by Katelyn Dittberner and Myla Inman

Ninth Place - Ed Rising Moment by Hannah Johnson.
