Blue Jays Fall Short in District Soccer Opener

The Washington High School soccer Blue Jays opened Class 3 District 2 Tournament action on Saturday, October 28, at Borgia High School.

The seventh-seeded Blue Jays saw their season come to an end with a 4-0 loss to second-seeded Borgia.

Washington, coached by Brian Dougherty, had two great scoring chances in the first half, both of which had the ball graze off the crossbar, which could have turned the complexion of the game.

Borgia, the defending Class 1 state champions, led 3-0 at halftime and added another goal early in the second half.
